What is going on with my pre-teen?

redclaybirdjn

I have two kids. My daughter is 12 and my son is 7 years old. My daughter is such an ideal daughter that every parent would want a daughter like her. She works hard, very respectful, active and cooperative. Recently, I see a change in her and not able to understand her quietness, her curt remarks…….. Any help would be appreciated.. There could be many reasons for the different changes we see in our kids. We can classify these into three broad categories: physical, home and school atmosphere.

At home, make a note of how many times you are talking to her, and to your son. How many times you have praised each one of them. You might have very surprising revelations. Generally, we tend to forget to tell the people how happy they make us feel or how proud we are, as the time passes. Maybe she needs your attention and recognition. She might be observing you and comparing herself with her brother. If you change your approach and win her back, you may be even able to find out if she has any worries regarding her physical or school atmosphere especially as she is stepping into her teen years.

I hope this helps.
